HOW A LINK USUALLY ARRIVES · ILLUSTRATIVE
01 · THE LINK

What does a genuine link from Confidential Dispatch look like?

Every link from us starts with the same address:

https://app.confidentialdispatch.com/THE SAME ON EVERY LINK
c/7kq2m4Xb9Lr3TtW0pZ8s…THEN /c/ OR /w/ AND A CODE THAT IS YOURS ALONE

A link that asks for documents, for your consent or for a renewal continues with /c/ and a long string of letters and numbers that belongs to you alone.

The rights link on your receipt continues with /w/.

A link reaches you in one of two ways.

FROM THE FIRM ITSELF

The firm sends it itself, from its own phone or email, often on WhatsApp.

EMAILED BY US, FOR THE FIRM

Or the firm asks us to email it to you. That email comes from the firm’s name followed by “via Confidential Dispatch”. It shows the link as plain text as well as behind its button, and it asks you not to reply with documents.

The link is private to you. It opens a page with no sign-in and no account. The page shows:

  1. 1Request from: the firm’s name and logo, then the title of the request and what it is for.
  2. 2This link was sent to: a hidden version of the phone number or email address the firm entered for you, such as +91-9xxxx-xx111.
  3. 3Respond by: the date, the day the link stops working.
  4. 4Privacy notice: what the firm asks for and why, and how long it keeps it. It also names your rights and who to contact.
  5. 5A consent box that is never ticked for you. Nothing can be added until you tick it.

THE EMAIL, IF THE FIRM ASKS US TO SEND IT

If we email it, look for three things.

  1. AIt comes from the firm’s name followed by “via Confidential Dispatch”.
  2. BIt shows the link as plain text as well as behind its button.
  3. CIt asks you not to reply with documents.
WE NEVER ASK

We never ask you for a password or a payment, and we never ask you to send documents by email or as a reply. Documents go in only through the link.

KEEP IT TO YOURSELF

Don’t forward your link. Whoever holds it can open the page and add files as if they were you.

02 · CHECKING IT

How do I check that a link is genuine?

Three checks. The first takes a few seconds.

CHECK 1 OF 3 · A FEW SECONDS

Check it with our link checker.

Paste the link you received and we tell you whether we created it and what state it is in. Checking a link never opens it, and the firm is not told.

Check a link
START FROM HERE, ALWAYS

Only use the checker from this page. If a message sends you a link to “verify” or “check” your link, don’t use it. Come to confidentialdispatch.com and start from here.

THE LINK CHECKER
CHECK 2 OF 3

Check the address in your browser.

Open the link, tap the icon to the left of the address, and read the top line of the panel that opens. It must read exactly:

app.confidentialdispatch.com

A look-alike address, with a letter added or swapped or a word after “.com”, cannot show it. In a link you read in a message without opening it, the address runs straight from “.com” into “/c/” with nothing in between.

A link opened from WhatsApp: open it in Chrome or Safari first, from WhatsApp’s menu, because WhatsApp’s own browser may not show the panel. Then check as above.

CHECK 3 OF 3

Check what the page shows.

✓

The firm under Request from is one you deal with and were expecting to hear from.

✓

The hidden phone number or email under This link was sent to matches yours.

✓

The notice is there before you can add anything.

Something looks off. What do I do?

  1. 1Don’t add anything.
  2. 2Tell our team. At the foot of every link page, under Not sure?, choose Check or report this link. Or write to [email protected].
  3. 3Then contact the firm using a phone number or email address you already have for it, not one from the message.

For a request sent through us, your documents go in only through the link. If a message asks you to send them another way, report it.

03 · THE RESULT

What does a check tell me, and what doesn’t it?

The checker answers in one of three ways.

Created on Confidential Dispatch by Sharma Associates. This link is open until 6 Oct 2026. Only continue if you know Sharma Associates and expected this request; if you don’t, write to [email protected].Open the link →
GREEN

Created on Confidential Dispatch by the firm. The result opens with the name of the firm that created the link, then says whether the link is still open. If it is, continue only if you know the firm and expected the request. If it has expired, been completed, been closed or been replaced, the result says what to do next. The rights link on your receipt checks as genuine too. A link that is no longer active shows This link is genuine.

We can’t confirm this request right now. This link was created on Confidential Dispatch, but the firm can’t use it at the moment. Please contact the firm that sent you the link for details, and only send your documents through a link that checks as genuine here.
AMBER

We can’t confirm this request right now. We created this link, but the firm can’t use it at the moment. Contact the firm that sent it for details, and only send your documents through a link that checks as genuine.

This is not a Confidential Dispatch link. It goes to app-confidentialdispatch.co, not app.confidentialdispatch.com. Don’t open it or enter anything on it. Forward it to [email protected] and we’ll look into it.
RED

This is not a Confidential Dispatch link. or We have no record of this link. Don’t open it or enter anything on it. Forward the message you received to [email protected] and we will look into it.

WHAT A CHECK DOES NOT TELL YOU

We confirm that a link was created on Confidential Dispatch and what state it is in. We don’t vouch for the firm.

The name on the result and on the page is the one the firm entered in its own account. A genuine link from a firm you don’t deal with is still a reason to stop, and to ask the firm using details you already have.

My link isn’t working. What now?

The page tells you why:

THE PAGE SAYSWHAT IT MEANS
Link expiredThe Respond by date has passed. Ask the firm for a new link.
Link replacedThe firm issued a newer link. Use the latest one it sent.
Request closedThe firm closed the request. What you sent before it closed was received.
Request completeEverything is in. Nothing more is needed from you.
Link not activeThe firm erased your data, so the link no longer works. If you have a question about your data, ask the firm.
This link is not validWe don’t recognise the link, or the firm’s account is not available at the moment. Check it with the link checker, and ask the firm before you do anything.

Only the firm can give you a new link. Ask it using details you already have. If we emailed you the request, a reply to that email reaches the firm’s grievance contact; don’t reply with documents.

When the firm issues a new link, the old one stops working at once, and what you sent before is still there.

When your link expires →

You get a receipt with a private rights link. It is shown once: print it, save it as a PDF, or email it to yourself before you close the page.

WHO CAN OPEN THEM

Only the firm’s people can open your documents, signed in to the firm’s account, and only if the role the firm gave them allows it. Each time one of them opens or downloads a document, the firm’s audit trail records who did it and when. The page you used only receives: it never shows what was sent, to you or to anyone else who holds the link. No screen in Confidential Dispatch lets our staff open a firm’s documents.

HOW LONG, AND THEN

The firm keeps your documents for the period in the notice, counted from the day you send each one. When it ends, they are deleted: we destroy the key that protects each file, so it can never be read again, and then remove the file. What stays is a record that the document existed and was deleted (its fingerprint, size and dates), never the document.

ONCE DOWNLOADED

A document the firm downloads is an ordinary file on the firm’s own device, outside our service.

06 · YOUR RIGHTS

How do I use my rights, and who do I contact?

Your rights link is on your receipt, and it is yours alone. Opening it changes nothing.

Withdraw your consent

At any time, with no reason. It takes effect at once. If no law requires the firm to keep what you sent, it is deleted at that moment. If a law does, the page names the law and the date it will be deleted.

Ask for a copy, a correction or deletion

From the same page. The firm has 90 days to answer (DPDP Rules, Rule 14). Come back to the same link to see the answer.
