Yes, choose your language from the icon beside Read the full notice, and the notice you agree to is saved in that language.

Beside Read the full notice is a small translate icon with the name of the language now shown. Choose it, pick a language from the list your device shows, and the full notice opens in that language. The icon appears on the page where the firm asks for your documents, on a consent request and on a renewal.

The languages are English, Hindi, Bengali, Marathi, Telugu, Tamil, Gujarati, Urdu, Kannada, Odia, Malayalam, Punjabi, Assamese, Nepali, Sanskrit. The list names each language in its own script. To go back, pick English from the same list.

The law gives you the option to read the notice in English or in any language in the Eighth Schedule of the Constitution (DPDP Act, section 5(3)). Our guide explains what the rule requires.

  • ✓The notice changes: its headings and its fixed sentences, which are our translation of the English notice.
  • ✗The firm's own words do not change: what it asks for, its purpose, any law it names, the period it keeps your data, and names and dates appear as the firm wrote them. A line under the title of the notice says so.
  • ✗The page around the notice does not change: its buttons and its short summary rows stay in English.

Reading the notice in a language records nothing. When you tick the box and agree, the notice in the language on your screen is the one saved as what you agreed to. Your receipt shows that notice in the same language and names the language beside Notice version. The firm can see which language you agreed in.

The page opens in English each time you open the link, so choose your language again if you come back. If a language cannot be loaded, the page stays in English and says "Couldn't load" with the name of the language.

If you see no icon, the notice for this request is available in English only. You can still withdraw your consent in any case.
