The receipt appears on your screen when you finish and is shown only once, so print it, save it as a PDF or email a copy to yourself before you close the page.

You get a receipt at the end of a request. That is when you have sent every item, when you have closed the page without the remaining items, or when you have answered a renewal or agreed to a consent request. A part-send gives no receipt, and neither does declining a consent request. A renewal in which you keep nothing gives a receipt with no rights link and no email box.

The receipt is headed Your copy of what you agreed to. It shows who gave the consent, who it was given to, the request, the date and time, and the version of the notice. It lists what you sent and anything you did not provide. It also carries the notice fingerprint and the full notice, under The full notice you agreed to. The firm holds the same fingerprint. If the two match, this is the notice you agreed to, unchanged.

Under Take your copy now, you can keep the receipt in three ways:

  1. 1 Choose Print or save as PDF. The printed copy includes the full notice and your rights link.
  2. 2 Type your address under Or email a copy to yourself and choose Send. We email the receipt and your rights link to that address, up to 3 times. We do not keep the address. The email comes from the firm's name followed by "via Confidential Dispatch", with the subject "Your consent receipt" and the firm's name.
  3. 3 Choose Copy rights link. The page also prints the link in full under Your rights link.

The page shows the receipt once. When you close it, it does not come back, and nothing sends it again. If you open the upload link again after finishing, the pill reads Request complete or Answered and the receipt is not shown.

If you kept your rights link, it opens a page headed Your consent, as recorded. It shows who the consent was given to, the request, when you gave it, how long it is kept and the names of the items it covers. It never shows your documents, and it is not the receipt itself. From it you can withdraw your consent.

If you have neither the receipt nor the link, see what to do when you did not save them.
