An admin downloads the export from the Export your data card in Settings, and it carries your clients' documents and the evidence behind them and can be checked without us.

Only an admin can export. Open Settings and find the Export your data card. It offers three downloads.

  • Evidence only holds your consents, the notice each person saw, your retention and rights records, breach incidents and the proof chain. It has no download limit. Downloading the evidence on its own has its own page.
  • Documents & Evidence adds your clients' documents to the evidence.
  • Documents only holds the documents without the evidence.

A full export stays open for 7 days from the first download of documents. Each part can be downloaded 3 times in that window. If your documents come to more than 2 GB, or more than 10,000 files, the export is cut into parts. The export limits explain what to do if a download fails.

The documents in the export are decrypted so that you can open them. Keep the zip the way you keep the originals. We build it while you download it. We do not email it, and we do not keep a copy. You can check the export without us, and what is inside is listed file by file.

Leaving itself

The app has no button that closes an account. Your account stays open until the free period or the plan you are on ends. If automatic renewal is on, turn it off so the plan does not renew. If you do not renew, it passes through a grace period and a suspension and is then erased. What happens if you stop paying gives the stages. After erasure nothing can be recovered.

Take the export before that. While your account is suspended for non-payment, the Export your data card also appears on Plan & billing for an admin.
