Open your client's folder and choose Withdraw consent on that request's card, which needs the withdrawal switch and takes effect at once.

  1. 1 Open your client's folder.
  2. 2 Find the card of the request the consent belongs to. Withdraw consent sits at its foot while a consent is in force. If the request has been renewed, it withdraws the latest renewal's consent.
  3. 3 Choose Withdraw consent. The panel says what will happen for that request.
  4. 4 Confirm with Withdraw and erase when the documents will be deleted now. Confirm with Withdraw consent when a law keeps them or you hold them yourself. To stop, choose Leave it in place.

The button needs the Withdraw consent, end a relationship, erase a person switch, which admins have by default. A role without it sees Withdraw consent greyed out with "Not in your role". See permissions by role.

The withdrawal works exactly as if your client had made it from their rights link. What is deleted, kept or left for you to delete follows what happens when a client withdraws and what happens when a law applies. It cannot be undone.

Three things differ from a withdrawal your client makes. The audit trail records your name and that you acted on their behalf. The Register tab of the Rights page shows it as recorded by you. You get no bell and no line in the daily summary for it. We send your client nothing, and their rights link shows the consent as withdrawn.

A withdrawal is never an open request, so Record a request from them does not offer it. That option is for a copy, a correction or deletion, as described in recording a request a client made to you.

If your client has already withdrawn from their link, the app tells you the consent was already withdrawn.
