A role is a set of twelve switches, the table here lists each switch with what it opens and whether the Member role has it by default.

You set the switches on the Roles card of the Team screen, and a role can hold any mix of them. The Admin role holds all twelve and cannot be edited. The Member role starts with the six marked Yes and can be edited. A role you add starts with the Member defaults. Every role holds at least one switch.

What only an admin can do

No switch gives these. They belong to the Admin role.

  • ✓Changing your firm's details and the consent renewal setting
  • ✓Inviting colleagues and managing the team and its roles
  • ✓Downloading the client list
  • ✓Downloading the audit trail
  • ✓Downloading the full export

A role also receives the emails and notifications for what it can do. The list of emails says who gets each one. What the Admin role is and what "Not in your role" means have their own pages.
