Under What you need, name each document or written answer, mark it Required or If applicable, and add rows with Add a document or question, up to 25 in one request.

Each row under What you need is one item. The labels go into the notice your client reads, in the order you list them.

  1. 1 In the first row, type what you are asking for, for example a certificate or a date of birth. A list of suggestions opens as you tap or type, and picking one fills in the label. You can always type your own. A label can be up to 120 characters.
  2. 2 Choose whether the item is a document or a written answer.
  3. 3 Choose whether it is required or optional.
  4. 4 Choose Add a document or question for the next item. The Enter key on a named row also adds the next row.
  5. 5 To remove an item, choose the cross beside it. This is available while the request has more than one row.

A request holds up to 25 items. At 25, the builder says so. Rows you leave blank are ignored, and you need at least one named item.

Two suggestions are fixed items, PAN Card and Driving Licence. You cannot edit their label, and they are always documents. Their row reads Upload or DigiLocker, which means your client can fetch the document from their DigiLocker instead of uploading a file. Choose that label to change the row to Upload only.

The items are frozen when you create the request. Keep each item to what the purpose needs, because the purpose is written into the same notice.
