When you choose Create request, the notice is composed and its wording is fixed, so the request has no edit screen and a different ask needs a new request.

The title, the purpose, the items, whether each is required, and the retention rule are all set when you choose Create request. The notice your client agrees to is written from the purpose, the items and the retention rule at the same moment. It also carries the grievance contact you had set then. A later change to your grievance contact does not change a notice that already exists.

Until you choose Create request, every section can be changed. A section that folds to one line when you apply a template reopens with Change.

After that, these still work on the request page:

To ask for something different, create a new request. The client reads the new notice and agrees to it again. If you want the same layout, start from a template so you do not retype it.
