You reset a password with a link we email to you.
- 1 On the sign-in page, choose Forgot your password?
- 2 Under Your account email, enter the address you sign in with.
- 3 Choose Email me a reset link. The page then says Check your email.
- 4 Open the email we send and choose the link in it.
- 5 Under New password, enter your new password. Type it again in Confirm password.
- 6 Choose Set password. The page says Your password is changed.
- 7 Choose Sign in, and sign in with the new password.
The page shows the same Check your email screen whether or not an account exists for the address you typed. We send the email only to a person whose account is active. Your firm's account must be active too, or suspended for non-payment. Nothing arrives for a person your admin has disabled. If nothing arrives, check your spam folder and the address you typed. Being locked out covers the other cases.
The link works once. It expires 2 hours after you ask for it. If you open it after that, the page says Link spent. Choose Request a fresh link.
Saving a new password signs you out on every device, including the one you are using.
A new password does not change two-factor authentication. If it is on for your account, you still need the code from your authenticator app to sign in. If you have lost the app, see what to do.
A new password does not end a sign-in pause that has already started. The pause ends on its own.
