Open Settings, choose Set up on the Two-factor authentication card, scan the code with an authenticator app and enter the six-digit code the app shows.

Two-factor protects your own sign-in with a code from an authenticator app, alongside your password. It is optional. Each person sets it up for their own account, whatever their role. Nobody can switch it on for you.

  1. 1 Open Settings.
  2. 2 On the Two-factor authentication card, choose Set up.
  3. 3 In your authenticator app, scan the code on the screen. If you cannot scan it, use the link under the code to show the setup key and type the key into the app.
  4. 4 Under Code from the app, enter the six-digit code the app shows.
  5. 5 Choose Turn on two-factor.

The card now shows On.

At sign-in

After your email and password, the sign-in page shows a Second step and asks for the six digits showing in the app. Each code works once, so wait for a fresh one if a code is refused. Wrong codes count toward the pause after repeated wrong attempts.

Turn it off

  1. 1 On the same card, choose Turn off.
  2. 2 Enter Your password and the Current code from the app.
  3. 3 Choose Turn off two-factor. Choose Keep it on to cancel.

You then sign in with your password alone. The change is recorded in the audit trail against your name.

If you lose the app, an admin can reset it for you.
