Choose Delete now on your client's row in the Retention queue and confirm, and everything held for that person on that request is deleted at once.

You can delete from the Retention queue while the client's row is open. A row opens 15 days before the deletion date. Your role needs the Decide retention cases and renewals switch.

  1. 1 Open Retention and find the row.
  2. 2 Choose Delete now. The row asks you to confirm.
  3. 3 Choose Yes, delete.
BEFORE YOU DO THIS

Deleting cannot be undone. The files and written answers are gone for good.

Every document and written answer your client has on that request is deleted. Their documents on other requests are not touched. If a renewal was out, it ends and your client's link stops working.

The row moves to the Outcomes · 90 days tab as deleted. Your audit trail records the deletion against your name, with the fingerprint of each document. What stays is that record and your client's consent record.

For documents you hold yourself, the button reads Confirm deleted. You delete the documents from your own records and then choose Yes, I have deleted them. We record your confirmation. We hold nothing to delete. See recording consent for documents you hold.

Before a row opens, two other routes delete sooner. Erase this person in the client's folder deletes everything held for them on every request. It also removes their name and contact details. You can also withdraw consent on their behalf. Both need a role that allows deleting.
