A record stays that the document existed and was deleted, with its fingerprint, size and dates, together with the consent record and the entry in your audit trail.

That record is what lets you show your client or an auditor that the promise in the notice was kept. A deletion removes the content and leaves the proof.

What stays:

  • ✓The deletion entry in your audit trail. It holds the date, the number of items, the fingerprint of each document and who decided. When the daily run deleted them on their date, the entry shows the system as the decider.
  • ✓The document's size and file type.
  • ✓The consent record. It shows that your client gave consent, which notice they saw and when, and when they withdrew it if they did.
  • ✓The request, its notice and its retention rule.
  • ✓Your client's name and contact details, unless you erased the person.
  • ✓A line in the erased register of the evidence export.

What does not stay:

  • ✗The file and the key that protected it.
  • ✗The original file name.
  • ✗A written answer.

The folder shows Deleted per retention/erasure where the item was.
