Your client sees your firm's name and logo, the request and its items, a consent step before anything can be added, and a one-time receipt once they finish.

Your client opens their private link. They do not sign in and they do not need an account.

  1. 1 The page shows your firm's name and logo, then the request title and what it is for. A strip shows the number of items requested and the Respond by date, which is the date their link ends.
  2. 2 Documents are listed under Documents to upload and written answers under Details to type. Items you marked as if applicable carry an Optional pill.
  3. 3 A panel called Privacy notice sums up why you ask, how long you keep it, your client's rights and your grievance contact. They can open the full text with Read the full notice. Our guide explains what the notice says.
  4. 4 Your client gives consent before anything can be added. When they choose Add or tap a typed answer, a panel called Your consent opens. It holds a box that is never ticked for them and the button Agree and continue. Once they have agreed, they are not asked again on the same link.
  5. 5 Add opens their file picker, or they drag a file onto the row. Each file can be up to 50 MB, and a request takes up to 500 MB in total. A file they add shows its name with Remove until they send it. A written answer is typed into the box under the item.
  6. 6 The send button reads Send followed by the number of items. If those items cover everything required, the request is complete. If not, they can send what they have now and add the rest with the same link until the Respond by date.
  7. 7 After the last send, the page shows a consent receipt under Take your copy now. It is shown once. They can Print or save as PDF, email a copy to themselves, or Copy rights link.

For a PAN Card or driving licence item set to Upload or DigiLocker in the request builder, the list also shows Fetch from DigiLocker, as described in documents from DigiLocker. Your client then fetches that file from their own DigiLocker instead of uploading it.

Your client can also say they cannot provide the remaining items. The link for this appears once they have added or sent something. They confirm with Yes, close this page, and the page ends for them. You are told as described in how you learn documents have arrived.

The page only receives. Your client cannot view, download or check what they sent, and the same is true of anyone else who has the link. Below the list, Common questions answers how their documents are stored, whether their data is secure and who can see it.

When a link no longer works, your client sees a short page that says why. It says the link has expired, been replaced by a newer one, or the request has been closed. It also says when the request is already finished.
