A link stays open for 14 days unless you choose 7 or 30 under The link stays open for in the Terms section, and it counts from the moment the link is issued.

In the Terms section of the request builder, the setting The link stays open for offers 7, 14 or 30 days. 14 days is chosen when you open the builder. The same three choices appear when you add a person to a sent request and when you issue a new link.

The window counts from the moment the link is issued. For a new request, that is when you choose Create request. Sending the link later, or sending a reminder, does not move the date.

Each person has their own link and their own date. Until the date, a person who has sent some items can add the rest with the same link. On Home, the Closing soon tab lists links with 3 days or less left.

After the date, the link stops working. The page your client opens says that the link has expired and to ask you for a fresh one. It shows nothing about the request. What the person had already sent stays with you. See what happens when a link expires with items missing. To give the person a new link, issue one from the request page. This is not possible once the person has finished or the request is closed.

While your account is suspended, no upload link opens. The date a link ends does not move.

For example

Amaltas Deshmukh & Co creates a request for Farhan Qureshi on 1 July 2027 and leaves the link at 14 days. The link stays open until 15 July 2027. Had it chosen 7 days, the link would stay open until 8 July 2027.
