What your client already sent stays with you, the link stops working at its end date, and you can issue a new link or close the request.
Everything your client sent before the end date is received. It is kept until its deletion date. Files they added but did not send never reach you.
The link stops working at its end date. Your client then sees that the link has expired and is told to ask you for a new one. The page shows nothing about the request. Reminders stop at the same time.
A receipt and rights link are issued only when your client finishes or closes their link. A client whose link ends first gets neither.
You find out in three places. The person's row shows a meter that reads in progress, with the date the link ended and the button Get a new link. Your daily summary lists the link as expired with items outstanding, and Notifications shows A link expired with items outstanding. See how you learn what arrived.
If every unfinished link on the request has ended, a banner reads that the window ran out. The Requests page counts the request under Ran out, not closed. Nothing else happens by itself. The request stays open until you close it.
The request stays open. What you received is deleted on its date.
For example
Amaltas Deshmukh & Co sends Farhan Qureshi a request for three required documents on 1 July 2027 with a 14-day link. On 5 July 2027 he sends two of them. His link ends on 15 July 2027 with the third still missing. On 16 July 2027 Amaltas Deshmukh & Co issues him a new 14-day link, which ends on 30 July 2027. His two documents are still there, and he sends only the third.
