Open your client's folder, choose Renew consent on the request's card up to 30 days before its date, enter the further period, and send the link from the Retention queue.

The button appears on a request's card only when all of these hold:

  • The earliest deletion date on the request is within 30 days.
  • Your role has the Decide retention cases and renewals switch.
  • Your client has not withdrawn consent.
  • No renewal is already out on the request.
  • The request has a date, so it is not kept for as long as they're a client or under a law period.
  1. 1 Open Clients and open your client's folder.
  2. 2 On the request's card, choose Renew consent.
  3. 3 Under Further period, in days, enter the period. It starts at the days of the request's retention period. It can be 1 to 3650 days.
  4. 4 Check the date the form shows. It reads "kept until" followed by the new date if your client agrees.
  5. 5 Choose Create the renewal.
  6. 6 Open Retention and hand over the link from the row, as in asking a client to renew.

If the Retention queue has no row for your client yet, creating the renewal opens one. We send no deletion notice for a row you open this way. Your audit trail records that the renewal started from the folder. The card in the folder then reads Send it from Retention until the link is handed over, and Open in Retention after that.

The renewal is the same as one started from the queue. The new period is counted from the date on the request, and the link is valid until that date. Your renewal setting does not change what you can do here.
