A saved template is not edited in place, so start a request from it, change what you need, save the result under a new name, and delete the old template with the cross beside its name in the Start from row.
A saved template cannot be edited in place. Changing one means saving a changed copy under a new name. Deleting one removes it for good. Both are done from the request builder and both need a role that includes Save and edit templates. A template belongs to your firm, so deleting it removes it for every member.
To change a template
1Open a new request and choose the template in the Start from row. Its title, purpose, items and terms fill in.
2Change what you need. Choose Change on a folded section to open it.
3Tick Save as a template at the bottom and enter a Template name. The name must differ from your other templates, whatever the capital letters.
4Choose Save template only to keep the template without creating a request. Choose Create request to save it and create the request as well. Saving a template lists what it keeps.
5Delete the old template if you no longer need it.
To rename a template, start from it, change nothing and save it under the new name. Then delete the old one.
A new template cannot share the old one's name. To keep the name, delete the old template first and then save. Deleting a template in the Start from row does not clear the form you are filling in.
To delete a template
1In the Start from row, find the template. A cross sits beside the name of each template you saved, including the starter template copied into your account. Blank and the Client KYC example have none.
2Choose the cross. A box asks whether to delete the template. It says that requests already created from it are not affected and that this cannot be undone.
3Choose Yes, delete it.
Without Save and edit templates in your role, the cross is not shown and a delete is refused. See what "Not in your role" means.
The audit trail records Template saved and Template deleted.
