Open your client's folder, and on the request the line that starts Consented names the language after the date when your client agreed in a language other than English, and choosing Consented opens the notice exactly as they saw it.

  1. 1 Open your client's folder.
  2. 2 On the request, find the line that starts Consented and gives the date. When your client agreed in another language, its name follows the date in its own script, for example "in हिन्दी". When your client agreed in English, nothing follows the date.
  3. 3 Choose Consented. The notice opens as your client agreed to it, in their language. At its foot it says that it was frozen when consent was given and names the language.

Once a consent is withdrawn, the request shows the withdrawal in place of the Consented line. The language is then in the Consents on file card.

The Consents on file card lists every consent for this client, and each renewal is a line of its own. Before each date is a link reading "given". It opens the same notice and shows the same language.

The notice you published stays in English. Only the copy your client agreed to is in their language.

The first time a client agrees in a language, the audit trail records Notice read in another language. It records one for each language and notice version, and it sits in the Requests & links family. A client who reads the notice in another language and does not agree leaves no record of the language.
