Each request carries one purpose, one notice, one retention rule and one consent from each person, so what you collect for a different purpose goes in a different request.

You declare the purpose in the Purpose field when you create a request. It goes into the notice word for word, and your client's consent is recorded against that notice. A request cannot be created without a purpose.

Everything else about a collection hangs off the request:

Because the purpose and the notice cannot change, asking for something for a new purpose means creating a new request. Your client then gets a new notice and is asked for consent again. You do not retype their details, because you can reuse the client's record. A template carries the purpose for next time.

We record the purpose and show it. We do not check what you use a document for after you download it.

For example

Amaltas Deshmukh & Co sends Farhan Qureshi a request on 1 July 2027 with the purpose "Client onboarding and statutory KYC". On 1 August 2027 it sends him a second request with the purpose "Annual income tax return filing". Neither request names a law. Each has its own notice and its own consent. Farhan withdraws the first consent on 1 September 2027. What he sent for onboarding is deleted at once. What he sent for the tax return stays until its own dates.
