Every period you enter is limited to 10 years, or 3650 days, whether it is the period you promise, a law's period, a renewal or a review date.

No law period we have met is longer than 8 years. A 10-year limit covers every one.

The limit applies to each period on its own. A request can carry a first period of 10 years and a law's period of 10 years. A period longer than 10 years is not accepted. The request builder stops at 10 years, and a request that arrives with a longer period is refused.

As long as they're a client has no period to limit. Its date is set when you mark the relationship as ended.

When a period ends, you can renew or keep again. Each renewal or keep can run up to 10 years from its own start. Choose the first period when you set the retention rule, because it cannot be changed after the request is sent.
