Every notice your client reads must say who to contact about their data, so you cannot create a request until you give us a contact name and email.

Every notice your client reads has a Grievance contact section. It names the person you give us and tells your client to contact them with any question or grievance about their data. The law requires every notice to tell the person how to raise a grievance (DPDP Act, section 5). Our guide explains what a notice must contain.

The contact can be anyone at your firm who checks that inbox. When we email a client for you, a reply goes to the contact email.

Until the contact is set, you cannot create a request. Home shows a box with a Contact name field and an Email for data questions field until you fill both in. Choose Save once you have. You can also set the contact later in Settings.

Only an admin can set it. A colleague who is not an admin sees a note that requests cannot be created until an admin adds it.
