Home shows it while an open incident still has a letter you have not recorded as sent, and it goes once both letters are recorded.

The banner starts with Breach: and the name you gave the incident. It says what is still to be recorded: the letter to the people, the Board's report, or both. It also shows the Board's deadline as a date and time. It is amber until that deadline passes with no Board report recorded, then it turns red and says the report was due. Choose Send on the banner to open the incident.

If more than one incident has a letter to record, the banner shows the one with the earliest deadline and says how many more there are.

Anyone whose role holds the Record and handle breach incidents switch sees the banner, and admins always do.

While a letter is not recorded as sent, two more things repeat:

  • A notification arrives in your bell at most once a day.
  • A line appears in the daily summary email we send at 08:00 IST.

Both go to everyone whose role holds the same switch. The summary line says which letters are still to be recorded and gives the Board's deadline.

Recording a letter as sent does not mean the letter reached anyone. It is your statement that you sent it, and we cannot see that. The banner and the reminders therefore stop only when you record both letters as sent.

The red dot on your account button at the bottom of the left rail is separate. It stays while any incident is open, and it goes when you close the last one.
